HARVARD'S COMMITMENT TO SCHOLARSHIP:
Harvard is committed to educating the best students from around the world, regardless of their economic status. In 2007 Harvard College awarded more than $96 million in scholarships. Due to Harvard's exemplary financial aid program the median debt of a graduating Harvard student is approximately $6,750 compared with nearly $20,000, the national average graduating debt. Through Harvard's Financial Aid Initiative the College aims to reduce economic barriers to attending the College. Parents in families with incomes of less than $60,000 are exempt from the obligation of contributing to the cost of their children attending Harvard.
